Hosting
This site is served through Cloudflare, which processes standard connection data (such as IP address, browser type and request timestamp) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. This processing is necessary to operate the site and rests on our legitimate interest in secure, reliable delivery (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Analytics — Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used, so we can improve it. The script is not loaded when you arrive — it only runs after you click “Accept” in the cookie banner, and Google's Consent Mode keeps analytics storage denied until then. Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar device storage and process usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type). This data is processed by Google Ireland Limited and may be transferred to Google in the United States under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Google retains this data for up to 14 months.
The legal basis for this processing is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, §25 TTDSG). You can withdraw consent at any time, with future effect, via “Cookie settings” in the footer of every page.
Newsletter — Buttondown
Subscribing on the Newsletter page sends your email address directly to Buttondown, our newsletter provider, which acts as an independent controller for that data under its own privacy policy. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), given by submitting the form. Every issue includes an unsubscribe link that withdraws this consent immediately.

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your data, to object to it, and to data portability.
